What is CBD? How is it different than THC?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), in that it’s a botanical compound in the marijuana plant that has significant medical benefits. Unlike THC though, CBD does not give you a “high” as is it proven to be non-psychoactive, and can even counteract the “stoned” effects from THC. Although THC can also be effective in treating similar symptoms, CBD can relieve patients of pain, inflammation, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and many other ailments, without the feelings of ‘intoxication’ for the consumer. Basically, CBD is the part of the plant that makes marijuana medicinal.
What forms do CBD products come in?
CBD can be applied topically (rubbed into the skin), consumed orally (as an edible, drink, or powder), taken as a tincture (a usually-tasteless liquid dissolved under the tongue), vaporized, or smoked traditionally. You do not have to smoke to achieve the relieving effects of CBD.
What are the common uses of CBD?
People use Cannabidiol - more commonly referred to by its abbreviation “CBD” - to treat a variety of ailments and illnesses. Without producing any psychoactivity (or “high”), CBD works with the receptors in your body to produce anti-inflammatory, anti-spastic, anti-anxiety, and pain relieving effects. Continued use of natural Cannabidiol has helped people who have multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic pain, Lyme disease, insomnia, high blood pressure, acne, arthritis, inflammation, addiction, diabetes, PTSD, and many more. Moreover, at several academic research centers in the United States (and elsewhere) its anticancer properties are currently being investigated. Salves and topicals are absorbed through the skin to target specific nerves or muscles. Edible gummies and CBD capsules allow the CBD to flow through your bloodstream, producing relieving effects throughout the entire body. With the array of hemp-derived CBD products we carry, our Complete Releaf team is trained to help you find what works best for you.
Does CBD come up in a drug test?
Fortunately, most employer-mandated drug tests that utilize urine drug screening for marijuana use are looking for traces of the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compound in the body. This means, our “THC-less” and hemp-derived CBD products, may not show up on a drug test, since common drug tests do not typically screen for Cannabidiol (CBD). That being said, please be aware that many CBD products typically found in Colorado will contain trace amounts of THC and may show up on a drug test. We cannot legally give you advice in this matter, and encourage you to use your best judgement.
